This lesson offers an introduction to copyright within the UK context when dealing with multidimensional media.

By the end of this session you are expected to be able to:

• Understand the ways in which creative works, in particular images and visual material are protected, in the context of copyright law in the UK.
• To be aware of the impact of the copyright legislation on personal practice for collecting multidimensional data.
• Be aware of the types of licenses available to protect creative works, as well as to use others’ creative works.

This tutorial will require access to various examples of media files to practice some of the learning done during the lesson.

If you are doing this lesson as part of a workshop which create dataasets, you can reuse what you have collected before.

Otherwise, you can use example data sets from sites such as:
